Modular LED displays are a modern visual solution that are popular for several event types, such as corporate presentations, concert stages and several more. Due to their expandability to fit the size of any space, their ability to provide a bright, high-resolution image (depending on the pixel pitch of the LED wall module in use), and for their use in non-standard shapes and patterns, they have lent themselves to several creative applications.
One particular scenario that these work for is through the use of a wraparound LED wall. Made in the shape of a cube/cuboid, cylinder or other interesting shape, these provide an interesting three-dimensional canvas that work very well for both stage and tradeshow applications. Special content can be played that utilizes the shape of the wraparound wall, while also allowing it to be zoned into segments when/if required. Below are some ways this can be used:
Exhibit Booth Centerpiece
When a 3D wall structure is placed in a booth, a representative can use it to showcase material, invite guests to view interactive content, or loop eye-catching content that can draw in visitors. Particularly useful in island or peninsula-style booth configurations, these walls can draw the eyes of several passers-by very efficiently. In addition, paired with multi-sided or varying content, one wall can effectively support the presentations of two or more representatives during different segments of the tradeshow or programming.
Rigged and Overhead Banner
Used in a cylindrical or rectangular wraparound banner, an LED wall system can provide great visibility to a booth or area of a tradeshow. It can be a multipurpose tool that could serve as directional signage, advertising, or a segment-specific display, such as for a gameshow or other interesting feature. The wraparound format would allow the playback of continuous and seamless content, allowing it to be visible from anywhere on the tradeshow floor. When used around a stage area, it can be used for interactive audience participation segments (by displaying questions, scores etc.), displaying live camera feeds, or showing a schedule of upcoming segments. Its dynamic nature, bright display and overhead position would make it visible to every patron on the exhibit floor, regardless of where they are.
Inverted Cube and Cylinder
Another unique way to use an LED wall system would be to invert the build and have a multi-sided or cylindrical wall wrap around so that the display would be on the inside of the shape or structure. This would provide a highly immersive experience that could be used for a variety of programming. For instance, it could be used to display 3D flyover content of a remote location (useful for geological or marine survey exhibits), for gamification, or for specialty exhibits such as a virtual mini-concerts and award shows. By placing the viewer in the center of the content, they are able to experience a very unique perspective. When done safely, with considerations for flashing light proximity, claustrophobic tendencies and image distortion, this can provide a highly memorable experience that attendees will constantly be talking about.
These are a few examples of the versatility provided by LED walls when used outside of the traditional display screen and backdrop format. AV-AMERICA is proud to have partnered with a variety of clients and tradeshows who have deployed these solutions with great success and attendee feedback. With custom content, programming and video-mapping expertise, we are able to provide a solution that every conference attendee will remember.
